K. Robert Shen specialises in benign and malignant oesophageal disease and minimally invasive thoracic surgery. After medical school at Yale, he trained in general surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, including gastrointestinal physiology research, and thoracic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. He worked at the University of Virginia before joining Mayo Clinic in 2007.
