About Franca Melfi

Franca Melfi directs the cardio-thoraco-vascular department at Azienda Ospedaliera di Cosenza and is a professor of thoracic surgery at the University of Calabria. Her work focuses on robotic thoracic surgery, clinical research and surgical training. She performed an early robotic lung-cancer procedure in 2001 and served as EACTS president in 2023–2024.
